Abstract

Provides guidance and recommendations for the installation of bound and unbound pavements used for static and vehicular loading and pedestrian traffic. Covers: pre-construction phase, site set-out, construction of sub-base and base, waterproofing layer installation for structural slabs, installation of restraints, kerbs, channels and linear drainage units, construction of steps, sub-surface drainage, pavement construction falls and tolerances, modular pavement surface course, bound and unbound surface courses, routine cleaning, and structural maintenance and repair.

Supersedes BS 7533-3:2005+A1:2009, BS 7533-4:2006, BS 7533-9:2010 and BS 7533-11:2003. Partially supersedes BS 7533-6:1999 and BS 7533-7:2010. Came into effect 31 March 2025.
