Abstract

Presents the formal notification of revisions to Approved Documents B, Volume 1 and 2. Describes the application, transitional arrangements and which documents are affected. These changes do not affect the main timeline for amendments to support enhanced fire safety updates in 2025, 2026 and 2029.

Title continued: Amends Approved Document B (Fire safety) volume 2: Buildings other than dwellings, 2019 edition incorporating 2020 and 2022 amendment collated with 2025, 2026 and 2029 amendments. Amends 2025 amendments to Approved Document B, volume 1 and volume 2. Issued as part of the: Building regulations: circulars collection initially published by DCLG, continued by DLUHC, and MHCLG: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/building-regulations-circulars. Issued: 2 March 2025. The March 2025 revisions aim to correct minor errors in the 2 collated Approved Documents B1 and B2, and the 2025 amendments to Approved Document B, volume 1 and volume 2, and take effect on 2 March 2025. The main timeline for the 2025, 2026 and 2029 amendments remains in effect. Annex A forms the Notice of approval for the amended Approved Documents: Building Act 1984. Notice of approval of revision of documents giving practical guidance with respect to the requirements of the Building Regulations 2010.
