Abstract
Describes the redevelopment of Tottenham Green, transforming an underused space into a civic destination that enhances local identity and public activity. Phase 2 extended improvements by creating a pedestrian-friendly precinct, replacing car parking and hostile boundaries with safer, accessible urban space. Green infrastructure, including a children’s library garden, rain gardens, and a swamp cypress setting, integrates sustainable drainage solutions. A patterned paving surface, timber enclosures, and enhanced lighting improve legibility and safety. The material palette balances robust landscape elements like Cor-ten and wild planting with refined granite paving, unifying economic, sustainable, and durable design solutions.
