Abstract
HTM 05-03 is part of a suite of documents referred to as Firecode. The documents cover fire safety requirements in relation to the NHS. In part B areas covered include: major changes in this document since the previous edition; system technology; the design process; technical recommendations; commissioning and handover processes; maintenance including system testing, recording and certification; recommendations and guidance relating to false alarms and unwanted fire signals; operational responsibilities and system design for facilities providing mental health services and services for those with learning disabilities.
History
Supersedes HTM 05-03 Part B (2006) and HTM 05-03 Part H, which were published by the Department of Health. HTM 05-03 consists of ten parts: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, J, K and M. To be read in conjunction with HTM 05-01 and HTM 05-02 which are also part of the Firecode suite.
