Abstract
The Observer Building in Hastings, a former 3800m² printing press, is being revitalized into a community hub by IF_DO and Hastings Commons Neighbourhood Ventures, with a £7.5 million first phase completed in 2022 featuring multifunctional spaces, affordable workspaces, a community café, and a gym, and a second phase rooftop extension in progress, emphasizing the social, economic, and cultural benefits of community-led restoration efforts in Hastings’ White Rock area.
