Abstract
Inspired by a chalk cliff, Brighton College's new performing arts centre, designed by Nicholas Hare Architects and Amsterdam-based krft, features a massive pale-grey brick façade with a coved overhang, echoing the rake of the 400-seat auditorium inside, and integrates seamlessly with the Neogothic George Gilbert Scott buildings while addressing logistical and spatial challenges to become a pivotal architectural addition to the campus, enhancing the public realm and incorporating sustainable energy solutions.
