Abstract
The Specification aligns with various Eurocode 3 standards and BS 5950-1 for structural steelwork design, suitable for a range of construction types up to steel grade S460, excluding S235 which is rarely used in the UK. It governs steelwork execution in accordance with BS EN 1090 standards, focusing on conformity, technical requirements, and cold-formed structures. Execution Class 2 is the baseline, with additional provisions for Class 3 detailed in annexes. The Specification outlines project specifications, material handling, fabrication, erection, and protective treatments. It should be incorporated into steelwork contracts through a Project Specification, which may include unique employer requirements.
