Standard outlines specifications for the deflection-limiting volume (DLV) used in laboratory evaluations of protective structures for earth-moving machinery operators, as defined in ISO 6165. The DLV represents an approximation of a large seated operator and is critical for assessing structural protection during impact or rollover scenarios. Key definitions include orthogonal and rounded DLVs, as well as the orthogonal top head plane, each designed to reflect realistic operator dimensions and positions in compliance with ISO 3411 and related normative references.
