Comprises planning practice guidance focusing on how planning can take account of the impact on air quality from new development. Covers: the air quality considerations planning needs to address; the role of plan-making with regard to air quality; air quality concerns relative to neighbourhood planning; available information about air quality; when air quality considerations could be relevant to the development management process; specific issues needing to be considered when assessing air quality impacts; the level of detail required for an air quality assessment; and how impact on air quality can be mitigated.
