Abstract
Gives recommendations for the selection and location of portable fire extinguishers, particularly those conforming to BS EN 3, that can be carried by an individual and is used for the protection of buildings, other premises, their contents, to aid evacuation. Covers: general recommendations for provision of extinguishers, characteristics, suitability for different classes of fire; distribution according to fire classification, siting, rating, and replacements.
