Abstract

This documentation aims to assist parties to a contract adopt the use of a project bank account (PBA) as part of fair payment practice. PBAs can be used on private or public sector projects of all sizes, but most appropriate on large projects where there are a number of sub-contractors involved. Designed to be used in conjunction with the JCT standard forms of building contract, this document comprises of, the JCT Project Bank Account Agreement (PBA), (and the JCT form of Joining Agreement (PBA/JA)). It also includes enabling provisions for insertion into the Building Contract and Sub-Contracts for the relevant parties to enter into the PBA, and guidance notes.
