Health Technical Memorandum
Provides operational guidance relating to electrical safety requirements for low voltage systems in healthcare premises. Aims to assist in meeting the requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, which detail the precautions to be taken against risk of death or personal injury from electricity in work activities.
Superseded by WHTM 06-02 'Electrical safety guidance for low voltage systems' (NWSSP, 2024). Supersedes HTM 06-02 'Electrical safety guidance for low voltage systems (Welsh version)' with status note dated January 2007 (publisher: NWSSP). Supersedes HTM 2020 - Electrical safety code for low voltage systems. This document shares a number of model forms with HTM 06-03: Electrical guidance for high voltage systems. When completing the forms trusts should investigate ways of clearly distinguishing between low voltage and high voltage forms especially when the two systems are present on the same site.
