Abstract
Provides the final assessment of overall progress of the government's 25 year environment plan (25 YEP) to the extent that is possible. Provides a summary of the Natural Capital Committee's interim response to the 2020 progress report and uses the alternative natural capital asset-based framework detailed in the interim response to assess progress against the 25 YEP, covering atmosphere, freshwater, marine, soils, land (terrestrial, freshwater, coastal and marine margin habitats) asset, biota, minerals and resources.

The Natural Capital Committee was an independent advisory committee which provided advice to the UK Government on the sustainable use of the UK's natural assets e.g. forests, rivers, land, minerals and oceans, otherwise known as 'natural capital'. It ran from 2012 to December 2020.
