Abstract

Gives guidance on classification of gases and vapours. Including a test method to determine the auto-ignition temperature (AIT) of a vapour-air mixture or gas-air mixture at atmospheric pressure, to aid the selection of an appropriate temperature class of equipment.

Supersedes BS EN 60079-20-1:2010. Amendment dated 30 November 2019 - Implementation of CEN correction notice 20 November 2019: Supersession details added, ISO reference corrected. This standard is the UK implementation of EN ISO 80079‑20‑1:2019. It is identical to ISO/IEC 80079‑20‑1:2017, incorporating corrigendum July 2018.
