Abstract
The National Agreement struck between BESA and Unite the Union on the working rules and conditions for all operatives employed in the heating, ventilating, air conditioning, piping, and domestic engineering industry.

Superseded by 'National agreement 2022 - heating ventilating air conditioning piping and domestic engineering industry. National agreement - working rules and conditions for operatives' (BESA, 2022). Incorporates amendments agreed up to 1st October 2018. Supersedes the 2016/18 version. First published in 1911.

A trade organisation meeting the needs of building engineering services contractors involved with design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, control and management of engineering systems and services in buildings. It was established in 1904 as the National Association of Master Heating and Domestic Engineers and has been through a few name changes since, including: Heating and Ventilating Contractors' Association (HVCA) and from 2012 it was the known as the Building and Engineering Services Association (BES).
