Abstract

Gives the performance standards and design provisions for compliance with the Building Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 relating to fire safety and covers means of escape, internal fire spread: linings, structure, external fire spread and facilities and access for Fire and Rescue services.

History

Came into effect 31 October 2012. Replaces draft version published June 2012. Supersedes DFP Technical Booklet E: Fire safety 2005. To be read in conjunction with Amendments Booklet AMD 7 'Amendments to Technical Booklet B, Technical Booklet C, Technical Booklet E' (DOF, 2022), and 'Amendments booklet - AMD 9. May 2025 amendments to Technical Booklet E, Technical Booklet R' (DOF 2024).
