Details requirements for the commissioning, design and installation of certain domestic heating and cooking appliances burning wood, woody biomass and solid fuels in both new and existing buildings, rated up to 50 kW. Also covers classification, site storage, fireplace recess, hearths, connecting flue pipes, chimney and flue pipe cleaning, top of fireplace recess closure, fireback, fireplace surround, throat, boiler, electrical supply, open fires with and without convection, room heaters, independent boilers and free-standing cookers, making good, and carbon monoxide alarms.
Supersedes BS 8303-1:1994, BS 8303-2:1994 and BS 8303-3:1994. Came into effect 31 October 2018.
