Code of Practice
Gives advice for selection of building hardware for fire-resisting doors and doorsets, and escape doors. Code encompasses timber fire doors of up to two hours' resistance and steel fire doors of up to four hours' resistance. The building hardware items covered are all either essential to the successful operation of the doorset, or optional items which could cause a failure of the doorset. Addresses the most recent legislation in the field.

The Door and Hardware Federation (DHF) was created from a merger of the Association of Builders' Hardware Manufacturers (ABHM) and the Door and Shutter Manufacturers' Association (DSMA) as a not-for-profit trade association for companies associated with locks and building hardware, doorsets, industrial doors and shutters, domestic garage doors and automated gates. They provide technical advice, training, knowledge and practical help.
