Abstract

Recommendations are given for designing and construction of external cladding assemblies for roofs and walls using profiled sheeting as the external surface. Covers: components, installation and weathertightness, temperature and thermal movement, inspection and maintenance.

History

BS 5427:2016 superseded BS 5427-1:1996. BS 5427:2016+A1:2017 supersedes BS 5427:2016. First published November 1976. Second edition (published as BS 5427-1) July 1996. Third (present) edition April 2016. Came into effect 30 April 2016. BS 5427:2016 was a full revision of BS 5427 and took into account changes to materials, components, systems and design practice as well as issues relating to thermal insulation and condensation.
