Comprises one of a series of guides setting out the scope of opportunities for building high quality places particularly using garden city principles, highlighting key points for consideration in planning for growth and signposting to further detailed information. Specifically focuses on the managing assets generated by the development process in perpetuity, covering the national policy context, stewardship bodies, funding opportunities and principles for success. Also includes case studies centred on: stewardship by BVT at Lightmoor, Telford; green space stewardship by the Land Trust at Beaulieu, Chelmsford; community management at Chilmington Green, Ashford; stewardship through local plans in North Essex; and managing community assets at Whitehill and Bordon.
