The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy resulted from a merger between the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) in July 2016. It has now been replaced by Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), and Department for Business and Trade (DBT).
