Applies to welds in carbon steel pipework for use with water, steam and gas at pressures up to and including 17.0 bar and/or temperatures from -20°C up to and including 220°C.
History
Replaces HVCA version from 2003. First published 1980 and revised in 1990. Supersedes: Recommended practice and tests for certificates of competency for oxy-acetylene and metal-arc welds in mild steel pipework (HVCA, 1970).

A trade organisation meeting the needs of building engineering services contractors involved with design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, control and management of engineering systems and services in buildings. It was established in 1904 as the National Association of Master Heating and Domestic Engineers and has been through a few name changes since, including: Heating and Ventilating Contractors' Association (HVCA) and from 2012 it was the known as the Building and Engineering Services Association (BES).
