Abstract
Highlights the verification problems caused by differences in guidance for stud resistances in composite beams, namely the 2010 amendment for BS 5950-3.1 and BS EN 1994-1-1. The minimum degree of shear connection rules offered in SCI P405 could be used to overcome the difficulties.
