Abstract
Assists public bodies in fulfilling the biodiversity duty, where they need to have regard to the conservation of biodiversity in exercising their functions. The duty was introduced by the Wildlife and natural environment act (Northern Ireland) 2011 and aims to raise the profile and visibility of biodiversity, clarifying existing commitments with regard to biodiversity, making it a natural and integral part of policy and decision making.
