Abstract
Explores how collaborative planning processes i.e. Charrettes can be integrated into mainstream planning, to ensure communities participate fully in making decisions about development in their place. Looks at: what collaborative planning is and why it's needed, using a Charrette, the collaborative process and what outputs can be achieved. Also contains a series of case studies illustrating the use of collaborative planning in the UK.
