Health Technical Memorandum
Aims to make sure that those involved in the management, design, procurement and use of the healthcare facility understand fire safety requirements to ensure optimum safety for all those in the building.
Supersedes version updated 18 September 2015. Includes several changes to the 2014 edition. Summary of changes made listed in Appendix L. Minor amendments made 4th November 2015. Changes include rectifying inconsistencies in dates between the cover, cover picture and foreword and changing reference to 'Relationship with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2006' to 'Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015'. The Department of Health was committed to improving the quality and convenience of care provided by the NHS and social services. Its work included setting national standards, shaping the direction of health and social care services and promoting healthier living. Publications included Space for Health: Technical Manuals, as well as the Health Building Notes, Health Technical Memorandums, and White Papers. They were renamed to the Department of Health and Social Care. However responsibility for technical guidance was then transferred to NHS Improvement in February 2017 which is now part of NHS England and NHS Improvement.
