Abstract

Focuses on the operational management and maintenance of systems for the supply by pipeline of: medical oxygen; nitrous oxide; nitrous oxide/oxygen mixture (50% v/v); medical air for respiratory applications (at 400 kPa) and surgical air for tools (at 700 kPa); medical vacuum and helium/oxygen (oxygen 21%). Waste anaesthetic gas scavenging systems are also covered.

History

Amended March 2013. This document replaced HTM 2022 - Medical gas pipeline systems: Operational management. HTM 02-01 is divided into two parts. Guidance in Part A deals with the design, installation, and validation and verification of a medical gas pipeline system. Part B covers operational management.
