Abstract

Introduces cSAP, an interface and calculation engine for the proposed new approach to the Government's Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) for the Energy rating of dwellings 2012. It has been created solely to enable user feedback for the proposed revisions to Part L of the Building Regulations in relation to new dwellings, which are due to take effect in 2014. As an interim checking software, until commercial software packages are released, the cSAP software cannot be used to officially demonstrate compliance with Part L 2013.

History

cSAP computer program not included. The interim checking software has been released to allow designers, manufacturers and other stakeholders to investigate the implications of the changes to the Regulations, to Approved Document ADL1A, to the Domestic Services Compliance Guide and to the NCM. This tool cannot be used to demonstrate compliance with Part L, nor to generate an EPC. It will be withdrawn from use once commercial SAP tools become available in the market.
