Abstract

Looks at the costs and benefits of introducing an amendment to the electric lines threshold in the Planning Act 2008, the effect of which is that the installation of an electric line of 132kV or greater nominal voltage that is under 2km in length and some works to uprate an electric line will be subject to the consenting procedure under s37 Electricity Act 1989 rather than the procedures under the Planning Act 2008.
