JCT Intermediate Building Contract (IC)
Abstract
For use where the building works are to be carried out in sections, by either private and local authority employees, and where provisions are required to cover named specialists. Also where the works are designed and the requirements for the contractors design of discrete parts are detailed by, or on behalf of, the employer, and where the contractor is required to design those parts of the work.
History
Current edition: ICD 2016. Previous editions: ICD 2005 (Revision 2 2009). JCT 2011 Contracts should not be used for construction contracts entered into after 1 October 2016. See also - Amendment 1 issued March 2015 (effective from 6 April 2015): JCT intermediate building contract with contractor's design - agreement 2011 (SMA, 2015), which has been included as a separate document. JCT 2011 has now been withdrawn following the successful release of the JCT 2016 edition of contracts, 10 May 2018.
