Abstract
Explains the new categories of planning application which must be referred to the Welsh Ministers, where local planning authorities are minded to approve them. The new direction replaces existing directions contained within Circulars 39/92 and 61/93, which are now cancelled.
History
Superseded by: Guidance on the Town and Country Planning (Flood Risk Area Development) (Notification) (Wales) Direction 2025, with regard to paragraphs 12 to 15. The provisions on 'Flood Risk Area Development', 'Emergency Services Development', 'Flood Risk Area' and 'Highly Vulnerable Development' set out in paragraph 2 of the 2012 Direction have also been superseded by the 2025 Direction. Also superseded by: Welsh Government Circular 001/2020 Guidance on the Town and Country Planning (Major Residential Development) (Notification) (Wales) Direction 2020 with regard to paragraphs 16 to 18. Supersedes: DOE Circular 15/93 (Welsh Office Circular 61/93). Also supersedes: DOE Circular 19/92 (Welsh Office Circular 39/92) with respect to Wales only; and part of paragraph 52 of Minerals Technical Advice Note (MTAN) 1: Aggregates (NAW, 2004).
