Abstract
Gives guidance on the structural appraisal of existing buildings, including making a structural appraisal for a material change of use. Considers the overall regulatory requirements, in particular issues relating to disproportionate collapse associated with requirements of Approved Document A. Provisions in the Eurocodes against sensitivity to disproportionate collapse are also discussed.
