Abstract

Comprises the Contaminated Land Statutory Guidance for Wales 2012, which deals with contaminated land under Part 2A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. Takes a precautionary approach but allows regulators to make quicker decisions about whether or not land is contaminated under Part 2A. This will prevent costly remediation operations being undertaken unnecessarily and will also offer better protection against potential health impacts by concentrating on sites where action is actually needed.
