JCT Design and Build Contract (DB)

Abstract

Agreement for use with the Design and Build contract, for sub-contract works whether or not they include design by the sub-contractor. Can be used where the sub-contract works and/or main contract works are to be carried out in sections, and for sub-contract works that are to be carried out on the basis of an adjusted sub-contract sum (adjustment for variations etc.) or by complete re-measurement of the sub-contract works.

History

The current version of this document is Design and Build Sub-Contract agreement 2024. Previous editions: DBSub/A 2005 (Revision 2 2009). JCT 2011 Contracts should not be used for construction contracts entered into after 1 October 2016. See also: Amendment 1 issued March 2015 (effective from 6 April 2015): JCT design and build sub-contract 2011 (DBSub/A and DBSub/C) (SMA, 2015), which has been included as a separate document. DBSub/A 2011. JCT 2011 has now been withdrawn following the successful release of the JCT 2016 edition of contracts, 10 May 2018.
