JCT Standard Building Sub Contract (SBCSub)

Abstract

Appropriate for use where the main contract is the Standard Building Contract (with quantities, without quantities or with approximate quantities); where the contractor is to design discrete part(s) of the main contract works (contractor’s designed portion); and the sub-contractor is to design all or part of the sub-contract works (sub-contractor’s designed portion).

Current version SBCSub/D/A 2016 Previous editions: SBCSub/D/A 2005 (Revision 2 2009), DSC 2002 (DSC/A/DP, DSC/A/DPSC) JCT 2011 Contracts should not be used for construction contracts entered into after 1 October 2016. See also: Amendment 1 issued March 2015 (effective from 6 April 2015): JCT standard building sub-contract with sub-contractor's design 2011 (SBCSub/D/A and SBCSub/D/C) (SMA, 2015), which has been included as a separate document. JCT 2011 has now been withdrawn following the successful release of the JCT 2016 edition of contracts, 10 May 2018.
