Abstract

Concerned with design of aluminium structures and passive methods of fire protection. Applicable to structures that carry load bearing functions if exposed to fire.

History

Superseded by BS EN 1999-1-2:2023. This document is considered to be a first generation Eurocode and is the applicable standard for building and civil engineering works constructed in the UK. A period now exists to prepare for the transition between first and second generation Eurocodes. First generation Eurocodes will be withdrawn by BSI on 30 March 2028 and will be replaced by second generation Eurocodes. Supersedes DD ENV 1999-1-2:2000. To be used with NA to BS EN 1999-1-5:2007:2009. Amendment dated 31 December 2008 - Publication of corrected English language text as supplied by CEN. Amendment dated 31 March 2009 - Re-print of the CEN text provided. Amendment dated 31 August 2010 - Implementation of CEN corrigendum October 2009. To enable EN 1999 to be used in the UK, the NDPs will be published in a National Annex, which will be made available by BSI in due course, after public consultation has taken place.
