Abstract

Gives design requirements for cold-formed members and sheeting, applying to cold-formed steel products made from coated or uncoated hot or cold rolled sheet or strip, that have been cold-formed by such processes as cold-rolled forming or press-braking. May also be used for the design of profiled steel sheeting for composite steel and concrete slabs at the construction stage.

History

Superseded by BS EN 1993-1-3:2024. This document is considered to be a first generation Eurocode and is the applicable standard for building and civil engineering works constructed in the UK. A period now exists to prepare for the transition between first and second generation Eurocodes. First generation Eurocodes will be withdrawn by BSI on 30 March 2028 and will be replaced by second generation Eurocodes. Supersedes BS 5950-5:1998, BS 5950-6:1995, BS 5950-9:1994 and DD ENV 1993-1-3:2001. To enable EN 1993-1-3 to be used in the UK, the NDPs will be published in a National Annex, which will be made available by BSI in due course after public consultation has taken place. Amendment dated 30 April 2010 - Implementation of CEN corrigendum November 2009.
