Abstract

Presents the findings from the research project examining fire spread, structural performance, design fire scenarios, stair design and level of fire protection required to meet functional requirements in the Building Regulations. After conducting 13 experimental fire tests, 7 conclusions are derived, covering stair geometry, materials, fire treatment and floor coverings.
