Abstract

Section 53 of the Building (Scotland) Act 2003 commenced on 1st May 2009. This relates to entry and inspection to make identification of dangerous buildings easier, to allow more information to become publicly available relating to building warrant applications and completion certificates in relation to specific buildings. Also approved designers and approved persons or bodies can certify elements of buildings do or will comply with Building Regulations. The regulatory impact assessment looks at issues relating to removal of Crown immunity from the requirement to comply with Building Regulations.
