Abstract
Looks at the new office designed for global mining firm Rio Tinto. It is located in Paddington, west London and has a layout created by Bennett Interior Design. Personal offices do not feature in the layout providing more natural light, facilities and space for the majority. Natural light is also complemented by an intelligent lighting system which can change the ambiance of the space at the touch of a button. The interior fit-out makes use of metals and dark finishes and deliberate contrast with striking highlights of colour provided by the choice of flooring, furniture and art. 'Focus on: designing the office' also covers the MyBüro concept by Nikal and HKR Architects which aims to provide affordable high-quality leasehold property for the small business market.
