Interim Advice Notes
The TASCAR template ensures consistency on the trunk road network when temporary safety cameras are used during road works.
Interim Advice Notes (IANs) are issued by the Highways Agency from time to time. They contain specific Guidance, which shall only be used in connection with works on motorways and trunk roads in England, subject to any specific implementation instructions contained within an IAN. Whilst IANs must be read in conjunction with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW) for the above works, and may incorporate amendments or additions to documents in these manuals, they are not part of the DMRB or MCHW. Contains updated appendices for inclusion in the MCHW Notes for guidance series 100 and 1200 to reflect changes to requirements and technology.
The Highways Agency is now known as Highways England. The new government company is in charge of operating England's motorways and major A roads, including modernising and maintaining the highways. Their publications include the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, the Manual of Contract Documents for Road Works and Interim Advice Notes.
