Explanatory Memorandum
Abstract
Relates to the Town and country planning (general development procedure) (amendment) (England) order 2008. SI 2008/550, which amends the Town and Country Planning (General Development Procedure) Order 1995 and provides for a mandatory standard application form published by the Secretary of State for all applications for planning permission from 6th April 2008 and introduces new provisions on the validity of planning applications. This explanatory memorandum also relates to the Planning (listed buildings and conservation areas) (amendment) (England) regulations 2008. SI 2008/551, which amend the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Regulations 1990 to make similar provision for applications for listed building and conservation area consents.
