Abstract

Introduces BS EN 1997-1 covering geotechnical design parameters, design calculations for foundations and retaining structures, geotechnical design and construction matters, European geotechnical construction standard and looks at the application and impacts of these codes on UK practice.

History

This guidance has been based on the published Eurocode, BS EN 1997-1:2004, together with the draft of its National Annex that was available at the time of writing.
