Abstract
The broad objectives of this project were: to identify the impacts of construction projects on local communities, and to develop guidance for the industry to help it to address the concerns of local people and businesses. The guidance and tools in this publication are intended to help the construction industry to improve its relationship with the people who live and work in the neighbourhood of its sites. The research results highlighted similar concerns amongst the local communities near to the case study sites, with the main worrying impacts of construction being: noise, dust, traffic and parking.
