Abstract

BB81 provides guidance on accommodation for design and technology in secondary schools. It discusses the issues that arise when considering both new and existing accommodation. The guidance given is not prescriptive. It illustrates typical examples and suggests a flexible approach which can be used as a guide against which individual schools can assess their own requirements.

Since June 2007 now known as the Department for Children, Schools and Families. In 1999 the Department for Education and Skills took over the Department for Education and Employment. They continued to produce the building bulletins and other design guidance to support the construction of school facilities.
