Abstract
Summarises the initial study carried out into the current application of Building Regulation requirement A3 together with trends in building construction and any comments on perceived short comings. Presents a categorisation based upon ENV1991-2-7 using simple numerical values of coefficients to define the level of design and protection required. Gives categorisation for all common buildings, with clearly established limitation on its application.
