BS EN
Guidance is given for manual, semi-mechanized, mechanized and automatic arc welding of ferritic steels excluding ferritic stainless steels (see clause 5).
Supersedes BS 5135:1984. It is important to know that the BS EN 1011 series of standards uses the concept of heat input to the weld whereas BS 5135 used arc energy. These two terms are not interchangeable and care should be taken when transposing data from BS 5135 to the BS EN 1011 standards. Attention is also drawn to Annex C.
