Abstract

Introduces the standards improvement system (SIS) which can be used to report and provide feedback over the internet. The SIS is a computerised database of potential improvements to standards and specifications published by the Overseeing Organisations of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. This system replaces the quality control reporting system (QCRS).

The Highways Agency transformed into Highways England in 2015 and was then renamed as National Highways in 2021. The government company had responsibility for operating England's motorways and major A roads, including modernising and maintaining the highways.
