Abstract
Describes the background to the new Code, BS 5950: Part 8 and its use in practice; cross-reference to the Code Clauses is provided in the margin for easy reference. Methods of evaluating fire resistance, based on tests or by calculation are outlined. Particular structural forms such as shelf angle and composite floors, portal frames and concrete filled hollow sections are included.
