Abstract
Scottish Executive and Scottish National Heritage wish to apply best practice in planning and development control within the National Park areas in order to ensure that consistently high standards are achieved in the quality of new development. The study aims to consider older National Parks in England and Wales to see how effective development plan policies and development control processes in National Parks have been in obtaining high quality development; and to identify key lessons for possible application in Scotland.
